Above the door, it said: "Enter, and face yourself."
9 had heard the stories since he was a child. He didn't hear them — he felt them. Like the District was calling him.
One night, a narrow street he'd never seen before. The air felt heavier. Quieter. Familiar. He stepped inside without thinking. Inside the door — no walls. Only memories. Pieces of him.
The voice answered softly: "Because you belong here."
